What has been your biggest learning this year?

I was talking to somebody yesterday who completed one of my market research surveys and I shared with her that when I didn’t win the Reality Show I took part in earlier this year, I had a moment where I was like “I’m done!”

I could see no other way forward without somebody giving me the coaching I felt I needed to take my own coaching business to the next level for free because I felt I “couldn’t afford” the level of support I needed.

That was my first big learning of this year.

I still had a terrible scarcity mindset.

In spite of all the things I’d done to work on it and the big leaps I’d made, blocks around money were ruining my chance for greater wealth and success (and as such, greater impact).

This is something I have completely transformed since I got back from that show in May. I thought I’d rewired my money mindset, but the truth was that I still was living in deep scarcity in my mind and I was making decisions from that place, which weren’t progressing my life or the impact I wanted to make on others.

My second learning was that I hadn’t truly healed from my experience of being raped.

Again, I thought this was something I’d already done, but I realised in the Play to Win Reality show that I really hadn’t. I hadn’t connected with the feeling of shame for being raped and I was still  feeling this in many areas of my life in the present day.

Both my scarcity mindset and my inability to feel the thing I have been most scared about (vulnerability) were stopping me from taking the massive action I needed to show up, which was the one thing missing between where I was and the income and impact I truly wanted to make.

And these learnings have paid me Iback dividends!

I’ve just come out of the best three months I have ever had earning wise  (I have tripled my income since May).

I’m now working with a Coach that charges more money than I currently own, but I’m ready. Something significant shifted in me. I realised that if nothing changes, nothing changes. We’ve got to go all in our goals, do what we haven’t done and go where we feel most fear to succeed. And if we aren’t willing to do that, write off the chance of success you seek. Or at the very least, know it will take you significantly longer, with significantly more frustration and lack to get to where you really want to be.

Actually investing to match the level I want to see change in my life is the only thing I hadn’t done to really hit my Big Audacious Hairy Ass Goals thus far. And my new Coach said something that really got me thinking… If we fear investing, surely that means we are assuming we are going to fail.  She’s right.

One month into my coaching, I am now ready to release my 8-week u_UNLEASHED program to help others unleash their inner potential to create more income and impact in their lives.

The program has everything you need (everything I lacked) to create, launch, scale and market an offering FAST  that impacts others and generates a sustainable and scalable income that gives you the freedom-based lifestyle your soul craves and your heart deserves.

I’ve done it. Now you can too. The programme is split across

– Superhuman Mindset & Performance coaching from my MyndDojo,

–  Strategy coaching for simplification, automation and scale,

– And Marketing coaching and strategy that makes you stand out from all the other cookie cutter crap you see on social media, so that your message and mission gets heard over all the other noise and you make the impact that is your Soul Goal.

Are you tired of your weight rollercoaster?

I am a fighter.  For 9 years I have worked hard to stay within a weight band that is optimum for my fighting.  That number on the scale has meant everything.  Partially, in my mindset, an indicator of my “success”.  However, I want to share with you an experience that proved for me that whatever I thought it was an indicator of, it isn’t an indicator of what is on the inside of me or my state of health, however “slim” I thought I looked.

My weight nowadays generally sits at about 52 kilos. Pre-pregnancy and babies I used to sit at around 50 kilos.  Do you know why?  Because I used to relate my positive body image to no more than 8 stones on the scales.  Nothing to do with my health or feelings of energy and vitality.  It was just a number I related to my body image at a particular time in my life where I felt good.  Every time I have dropped under 52 kilos for a fight camp since having my babies, I have piled the weight back on almost immediately after fight camp has finished.  Because my body has been deprived of what it needs and the consequence of this has been cravings and binge eating, and after 6-8 weeks eating clean and restricting my calories, eating badly and over-eating makes me feel like shit, and so the cycle starts again.

Have you found yourself on a similar rollercoaster?

A few months ago I got the opportunity to fight for a title at 48.9 kilos.  I wasn’t worried because I have dropped to this weight before.  I knew I could do it and about a kilo of it would be just water weight anyway.  The difference this time was that for the last 12 months I have been on an incredible journey.  A personalised journey to find out what my body needs in terms of macro and micro nutrients.  I have been feeling awesome, better than ever before actually.  My energy has been off the charts.  Some of the health issues I have suffered for years just went away and I saw muscle on my body I have literally never seen before, in spite of training at high intensity 6 days a week for as long as I could remember!  It was like this layer of ‘puppy fat’ that I had always had and always felt subconscious about had just magically melted away. I looked lean and I looked strong.

Right before I began my weight cut this time I got on my Smart Scales and looked at my body composition.  I looked at my muscle mass, my visceral fat and my body fat. Everything was in good, healthy ranges for me.  I looked at my resting metabolism, i.e what my body needs to survive in calories, so I could add on my calories burned through exercise and movement through the day.  I felt in control.  I felt good and I looked good!  I had a diet I could follow and feel confident was providing my body with what it needs!  And I no longer had all those annoying cravings that drove me  to make stupid decisions.  In fact, I was eating more than ever and adding on no weight at all. My metabolism was on fire.

Faced with the challenge to lose weight fast though, I made a terrible decision.  I made the decision to go away from everything I had learned in my journey to personalise my diet to my body’s actual needs to what I knew would move weight, fast.  Cutting carbohydrates.  I want to share with you the results of this and share with you the lessons I learned, the hard way.

In a couple of months I lost 2 kilos.

This was my aim – 250 grams a week – comfortable, safe weight loss.  However, a couple of weeks in, my training got really hard.  I felt my muscles screaming at me during training sessions and I felt fatigued after them.  I felt fatigued in general!  And my tummy was completely messed up.  Without being completely ‘TMI’, it felt like I had the runs every day, and it was horrible.  And I looked terrible.  A friend actually reached out to me by messenger and asked me if everything was OK!  I felt rubbish.

4 weeks before my fight I decided to pull the pin.  Well, to be more accurate a doctor signed me off and told me I would be stupid to try and cut any more weight and over-exert myself when my body clearly wasn’t holding onto and benefiting from what I was putting in it already.  At this point I had also found blood in my stools and I was chronically fatigued.

So what was going on?

I got back on my smart scales and found I had lost a whopping 600g in muscle mass. My resting metabolism had dropped by a couple of hundred calories. My body fat percentage hadn’t moved at all. From this information alone I could see that all I’d done with dumping carbohydrates and creating a calorie deficit was tell my body it had to go into survival mode and preserve fat and sacrifice muscle. A number of the other side effects would have followed on from here. Others perhaps not, but this was enough information for me to commit to sharing the new way I had found, the better way, to lose weight and keep that weight off sustainably.

For 8 months previous to my awful decision I had been following a diet personalised to my genetic makeup.

75% of generic diets FAIL. That means that 75% of people on a diet that has not been personalised to their actual needs will FAIL. You might see an initial weight drop like me, then it will plateau. You’ll give up, or reach the end of your target time on the diet and all the weight will go back on. You will have lost muscle and affected your metabolism in a bad way, and this yo yo dieting will put pressure on your blood sugar balance, mess with your hormones, mess with your self-esteem and energy levels and who knows what other damage on the inside of you.

To refresh my health after I dropped my title fight, I took up a mostly plant-based diet, went back to my recommended macros and saw my energy quickly FLY. I realised I could satisfy my body’s needs for high carbohydrates with a mix of plant-based foods over traditional breads, wraps and rolls AND eat in a way my body found easy to digest. I cannot tell you how good this has felt.

There are 2 tools you need to personalise your weight loss journey like this and I would love to be able to share them with you. They are what have me now at a place where my energy is high, my mood is good, my blood pressure is normal and my weight is back at a healthy number. Not that I believe this number means much at all now! It’s what’s on the inside, how we feel and how we are eating, moving and living in favour of our long term health.

What will Coaching DO in your Life?

When we get awareness we take different action and we make different decisions.

Awareness and Perspective are two of the most powerful gifts Coaching will give you because 95% of our life is driven by our subconscious programming and this RUNS DEEP.

Awareness, Perspective, Focus, Vision – these powerful coaching benefits put you in control, not the programming born out of your experiences in life that were not positive.

What is your programming?

Do you believe that you are not enough?

Do you believe you aren’t worthy enough?

Do you believe you are not qualified enough to do what you really want to do?

Do you believe you are not good enough, so people will not want to look at/use/buy your service?

How is this affecting how you show up in the action you need to take to realise your goals?

I realised recently that my 9 years of Muay Thai fighting were me fighting against everything I believed to be true about me and about my world.   I write a lot about this in my book, Life Through a Lens.

This year I made the decision to start fighting FOR.  I set the vision of what I truly want and what I believe is possible, away from all the false beliefs I had about myself coming back from the Play To Win Reality Show.  Suddenly fighting no longer seemed an appropriate way to be spending all my time.  I’d been hiding in the gym for fight camp after fight camp because of all the fears I had about doing what I really wanted to do.  My belief about myself had been that I’m fundamentally flawed and so my behaviour, or my habit was to hide, to doubt and to self-sabotage.  I’d make excuses for these behaviours, but in reality we can either have excuses or we can have results.  Our excuses come when we are working to prove the beliefs we have about ourselves.  Here’s an example.  Has anyone ever approached you to buy a product or start an opportunity online?  Did you feel sceptical that it was legitimate?  What did you do?  Did you go search on google?  When you were there, did you read the good reviews or keep scrolling until you found the bad ones?  If you believe something to be true you are going to keep searching until you find the answer that backs up your belief.  Your mind does exactly the same thing when it comes to taking action.  Based on your experiences and what they led you to believe about yourself and about your world, your brain finds the justification and excuses it needs to stop you being vulnerable or unsafe.  Your brain will go back into its ‘super computer’ of experiences and find the reasons for you not to show up and that is when all those thought processes start; when your monkey mind tells you that you shouldn’t do it, you’ll fail if you try, or it’s not worth your time or you can’t afford it.  You don’t show up in that action and because you don’t show up in that action you don’t get the results.

To find true freedom and flexibility to pursue your soul goal you have to change that programming and change those beliefs because when you have them and listen to them you are fighting against everything that has happened in your life, everything that has harmed you, everybody that has let you down, everything that has failed you, everything that has hurt you instead of fighting for the life and impact you truly want.

How to Live Out Your Soul Goal

When something happens in our lives, whether it be in our childhoods or as adults, and whether it be one thing or a number of things, we can become “stuck”.

You might recognise this description. You might have felt the symptoms of your own lack of alignment with who you truly are and maybe you have questioned how you get the person you truly are back.  Perhaps you are feeling the heartbreak of losing her right now as you read this.

Perhaps you have become busy in life to avoid everything you feel in your heart.  I know personally that there is tremendous fear in feeling a difficult feeling. So, we do avoid it. For many people staying busy is how they’ve coped for years and I see them, in survival mode.  I want to tell them, tell you, that becoming a #RecoveredSurvivor, like me is possible.  That is why I began the #HummingbirdMovement.

In my own state of “survival”, my thoughts cleverly prevented me becoming vulnerable again (I was a victim of rape in 2004), but they also stopped me showing up purposefully, powerfully and authentically in my life to make the difference that lights a fire in my soul.

We are a product of our past and our story because of how our brains go collecting up every experience we have had and filing it away like some big old supercomputer.  Our brain will always call on these experiences when it comes to making decisions and taking action, so how do we let the voice of our Soul come through?  Where do we find the strength and courage to take the action that answers the call of our Soul Goal in the face of the fear when our brain is wired for our safety, security, and self-preservation, and so it will always direct us away from pain?

The anticipation of pain is the definition of fear.

When we listen to the voice that tells us that “we can’t, we shouldn’t, we aren’t good enough”, we are safe from the pain of our past, but we are not living in our present and we are not creating our future.  If your greatness is in your heart, how are your thoughts created by your fear keeping it locked from you?

In my book, Life Through a Lens, I teach you how to become stronger than the fear that is holding you back.  This begins with your focus.  The goal is to become focused only on the joy of life and positivity and focus away from the fear that is holding you back.

“See the threat or see the opportunity”, as the saying goes.

I finally chose to see the opportunity.  It required me to face the pain in my heart, but in feeling all of it I discovered my purpose.  To learn how my purpose intends to help you, if you are a woman on a Mission, and how you can become part of the #HummingbirdMovement, fill in the contact box and I’ll drop you a message with the details:

10 Things to Sacrifice TODAY for more HAPPINESS!

Recently I went live on my Facebook profile with 4 things you need to sacrifice to be happier in your life!  Check it out here!

I promised to share 6 more things you have to sacrifice to get happier NOW!

And here they are…

5. Give up HUSTLING!

Believe me, you think that by working every hour you are going to get more financial freedom, but it’s likely not true.  A really powerful exercise is to write a list of everything you are working hard for, which you feel you aren’t getting/don’t have already and then next to that list ask yourself honestly what you are not giving.  It’s likely that most of the work that you are working hard on isn’t the world-class work that will make the shifts you seek.  However, the world-class work challenges you, creates fear or puts you outside of your comfort zone.

Decide if you want the balance in your life that will bring you more happiness, which in turn will bring you more abundance and then commit to making some changes.

6.  Give up BLAMING!

Take this phrase, tattoo it to your brain and say every time you find yourself looking for someone to blame about what’s going wrong in your life…

Everything is happening around me, not to me, I can control how I respond!

Then look at what you can GIVE to improve your situation.

7.  Give up trying to PLEASE OTHERS

When you can trust that all your innate power is within you and be true to a life that fits you, you won’t need the approval of others.  It won’t matter anymore.  Not in a selfish way, but in a fulfilled way.  Your happiness shouldn’t be hinged on the love, appreciation or approval of others.

8.  Give up the SHOES THAT DON’T FIT

This is the first step to finding fulfilment and happiness from within you… Find out who you are in all your unique beauty.

9.  Give up the need to be RIGHT

Defending a point of view is exhausting and lowers our vibe.  Give up the need to be right to defend your peace of mind.

10. Give up CONTROL

There is little we can actually control in life, as I adhered to above, life is always happening around us.  Feeling like we have little control over our life makes us feel really unhappy.  This is just one area of a comprehensive scorecard I have to help you see what is making you feel unhappy in your life.

Access the scorecard in the first module of my free coaching course here!
